HAVEN General Assembly in Vilnius sets the stage for the next project phase
The HAVEN consortium gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 8-9 July 2026 for its 5th General Assembly, hosted by SOLITEK. At a pivotal stage of the project, the meeting brought together partners from across Europe to review recent achievements, discuss
upcoming activities, and prepare for the next phase of HAVEN’s journey. Over two days, discussions focused on how the different technologies, tools and methodologies being developed within HAVEN are coming together to support the project’s vision: unlocking the full potential of Hybrid Energy Storage Systems (HESS) for a more flexible and resilient energy system.
From development to real-world application
As HAVEN enters a new stage, attention is increasingly turning towards demonstrating how hybrid energy storage solutions can perform in practical environments. Throughout the General Assembly, partners shared updates on ongoing activities and exchanged perspectives on the preparation of the project’s four pilot sites. These pilots will provide an opportunity to assess how Hybrid Energy Storage Systems combine complementary storage technologies to optimise performance, support grid services, and respond to diverse energy needs.
The meeting also helped connect developments taking place across the project, ensuring that innovations in different areas contribute to a coherent and integrated system.
Innovation powered by collaboration
HAVEN brings together expertise spanning battery technologies, power electronics, energy management, sustainability, and system integration. This diversity is one of the project’s greatest strengths, enabling solutions that address challenges across the energy value chain. The General Assembly provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, align priorities, and maintain a shared vision as the project moves forward. Alongside technical discussions, partners also reviewed activities related to sustainability, dissemination, and long-term impact, reinforcing the project’s commitment to delivering solutions with lasting value.
Looking ahead
The meeting in Vilnius reflected a project entering an exciting phase. With technologies maturing and pilot preparations progressing, HAVEN is steadily moving closer to demonstrating how hybrid energy storage can contribute to smarter, more adaptable energy systems.
The discussions reinforced a common ambition across the consortium: turning innovation into practical solutions that support Europe’s energy transition and help build a more sustainable future.
