The HAVEN project consortium successfully convened its General Assembly on 20–21 January 2026, bringing together partners for two days of strategic coordination, technical exchange, and on-site engagement.

The meeting was hosted by IMECAR at its Elektronik Factory in Döşemealtı, Antalya (Turkey) providing an ideal setting to align on progress and next steps across the project’s work packages.

Day 1 – Governance, Integration, and Demonstration Focus

The General Assembly opened with registrations and a welcome address by the host, IMECAR, setting the stage for a comprehensive review of project governance and technical advances. The morning sessions covered WP9 (Project Management) and WP8 (Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication), offering an overview of coordination status, milestones, and outreach activities, followed by an in-depth presentation of WP4 (Modular Battery System Development), which highlighted progress on the modular architecture underpinning the project’s Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS).

Following a workshop introduction and a working lunch, participants engaged in a guided IMECAR factory tour, where consortium members gained first-hand insight into the industrial environment supporting system development and integration. The afternoon continued with a hands-on WP5 Integration Workshop, facilitating cross-work-package dialogue on system interfaces and integration pathways. The day concluded with WP6 (Demonstration and Validation of HESS), presented by DTU, and a plenary Q&A session that consolidated feedback and identified priorities for the next implementation phase.

Day 2 – Power Electronics, Sustainability, and Business Models

The second day commenced with a welcome session led by IMECAR, followed by WP3 (Novel Cognitive Power Electronics), presented by Fraunhofer (FHG). This session addressed advances in cognitive functionalities and power electronics design, critical to achieving performance, safety, and scalability objectives.

After a short break, the agenda turned to WP7 (Environmental and Economic Impact and Business Models), presented by INEGI. Discussions focused on life-cycle considerations, sustainability metrics, and market-oriented business models, reinforcing the project’s ambition to deliver not only technical innovation but also measurable environmental and economic value. The General Assembly concluded after lunch with final remarks and coordination of transport for departing participants.

Outcomes and Next Steps

Across both days, the General Assembly fostered strong alignment among partners, strengthened technical integration across work packages, and reinforced the project’s dissemination and exploitation strategy. The on-site format and factory visit proved particularly valuable in grounding discussions in real-world industrial context. As HAVEN advances toward its upcoming milestones, the outcomes of the Antalya meeting will guide coordinated implementation, demonstration, and impact assessment activities in the months ahead.
