On 6 May 2025, INEGI, a key partner of the HAVEN project, was invited to speak at the second session of the Portuguese Battery Cluster’s webinar series dedicated to the energy transition. The session focused on “Stationary Energy Storage: The Path Towards a Sustainable Power Grid” and brought together leading research institutions and industry stakeholders across Portugal.

During the webinar, INEGI presented the HAVEN project’s approach to hybrid energy storage, emphasising the integration of high-energy and high-power battery technologies with cognitive Battery Management Systems (BMS). These technologies are being developed to support next-generation grid infrastructure and electric vehicle (EV) charging networks across Europe.

This intervention offered an opportunity to share HAVEN’s progress in designing a modular, smart, and scalable energy storage system, and to highlight the role of real-time monitoring via Digital Twins, cloud-edge computing, and safety-oriented architecture in building sustainable power grids.

The webinar, organised by the Portuguese Battery Cluster, featured participation from several prominent institutions, including Universidade Nova de Lisboa and IEP, and contributed to a national dialogue on accelerating storage innovation for a decarbonised future.
